Mountain Routes

I had an exceptional time in February 2025 trekking up to the Annapurna Basecamp with MG as the lead guide. For the 5 days he briefed the team appropriately so we were never under any doubt what was expected of us and what we would expect to see. His team of guides and porters were all exceptionally friendly and helpful and were clearly a well bonded team to begin with. Organising this trek with Mountain Routes couldn't have been easier and they were often went beyond what was expected of them to help us. I believe that what I got out of the trip was highly good value for money. I would highly recommend them to friends in the future.

I was trekking with MG (the Guide)and Shiva( the Porter) to ABC for 5 days. It was only the best trekking experience in Nepal. MG being a super experienced guide, has not only provided support for my trekking, also told me all the history and stories of the Himalaya range. I had some issues with my knee, which he has very patiently made sure I was never left behind. I even got my Nepalese name along the trek. And Shiva, was just the best Sherpa porter ever! Thank you, great team for making my ABC trek a memorable journey.

Myself and three others did the 2 day Chisapani hike during a couple of days bank holiday. It was the ideal way to spend the free time. Our guide, MG, was an absolute hero. Very kind, very friendly, and very funny. The hostel at the top served great food and even better hot rum punch… would definitely recommended for a weekend or if you have a couple of free days.

I did the ABC Trek with 3 others plus MG (guide), Rupesh (assistant guide) and 2 amazing porters - Shiva & Sagar. I couldn’t have asked for a better team, they made the experience beyond enjoyable being both informative and entertaining, making us laugh the whole trip and keeping the energy high through the tough parts. The whole team made it for us and we would 100% go with them again - we had the best time!!

A group of us did the Chisapani loop hike from Kathmandu last weekend. About a 30km round trip, through terraced farms, villages and jungle, it was a perfect introduction to walking in Nepal. MG was both entertaining and knowledgeable, I recommend this hike!

Myself and one other embarked on the journey of a lifetime with MG, our guide, and Santhos, our superhuman porter, to EBC. An unforgettable time with plenty of laughs, steep ascents and sore feet! I would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone who wants to experience a more rural slice of life in Nepal, especially out of season. Even when things didn’t go exactly according to plan, our two new family members, as they felt like by the end, were always there to step in and save the day. Knowledgable, kind, friendly and great new connections to have in the world. Thank you so much!

I could not recommend this group enough. We did the Annapurna base camp trek with MG and Sa Rose as guides. The guides along with all the porters looked after and anticipated anything we could possibly need and were always willing to go above and beyond to help. We felt we were in very safe hands. They were inspirational and encouraging throughout the whole trek and incorporated fun and humor in everything we did. They knew the mountain and the risks so well and did everything possible to keep us safe. I’m sure they did more behind the scenes than we even recognized because everything went so smoothly. MG even went above and beyond to help us coordinate the next part of our trip in chitwan and checked in throughout the journey to make sure we made it to our next destination safely. Saying goodbye to them at the end of the trek felt like saying goodbye to family. Mountain routes is THE BEST and you should absolutely use them for your next mountain trekking adventure.

Had an amazing experience with MountainRoutes and our guide MG! He brought us (my mom and I) safely to the Everest Base Camp, and shared lots of tips, facts and jokes along the way. He’s fluent in English and very easy to talk to. I was experiencing symptoms of altitude sickness at the top, and MG took it seriously while still remaining calm and making me feel safe all the time. We went during monsoon season, but we were so lucky with the weather and the mountains showed themselves many times! All in all a great experience! Also big thank you to our porter, couldn’t have done it without him:)
